So I thought I would start a thread about the upcoming Gran Turismo 5 (full edition, not Prologue). There is not a lot of information out there on this one at the moment, it seems that Sony and Polyphony Digital are keeping their cards close to their chests as this is said to be the biggest Playstation game in the last 10 years! There is a lot of speculation about it having this and that but most of it is rumors. What can be confirmed is that there will be a day night cycle and finally a weather system that will affect the handling and dynamics of the cars you drive. They are also still working on the elusive damage model that has been absent from all previous incarnations of the game. This will be awesome if it's done right, and if they are doing it you can probably bet that it will be!

There is still no speculation on how many cars will be present or a leaked "possible" list but all that has been said is that there will be more cars in GT5 than any of the others. Awesome, that means more than GT4 which had the most in the series with 728 cars.

Now for the rumor mill....

* Bikes may or may not make it to GT5. The same developer made Tourist Trophy for the PS2 which was a racing simulator for bikes instead of cars. Kazunori Yamauchi (PD) has said that one day he would like to merge the 2 together. I hope if they do that you can slam the brakes on mid corner and watch the rider go tumbling over the bonnet of the car!! hehehehehe.

* Ferrari are confirmed but both Porsche and Lambo are not. There is word out that they will be included but I doubt it. I think as usual the only way we will be driving the 911's is through RUF.

* No word from sony yet on if GT5 will be at E3 or not but rumors are strong that it will be there, I don't think it will and I think we will be looking at a mid to late 2010 release date. Remember how long it took to release GT4!! The actual release day was over a year after the published date! Still the longer we wait for it the more complete it will be and the quality will be awesome no doubt.

Well that is it from me, I can't be arsed typing anymore or doing any more "research" and reading the same shit over and over and over again. Until more details hit the web via blogs, interviews, videos or spy pics there is not a lot else to write about.
