Hugh Jackman’s
X-Men Origins: Wolverine has given Twentieth Century-Fox its best ever first day Blu-ray sales.
A spokesman said
4769 Blu-ray copies had been sold on its
opening day in Australia.
One-quarter of all day one Wolverine sales were for Blu-ray, with the rest single disc and limited edition DVD packages.
“These results demonstrate that the Australian consumer is not only excited by the Blu-ray format but willing to embrace it in such a rapid way,” the spokesman said.
Twentieth Century-Fox’s previous biggest day one Blu-ray release was Quantum of Solace. (Sydney Mx)

I periodically look at the newly released and soon to be released Blu-ray titles and seems to me the number of new releases each week are on the increase.
There are approx
150 Blu-ray new and back release movies scheduled for release in the
next 10 weeks till the end of the year (including District 9 on December 30 and the Hangover on November 25th)
New releases to the end of the year;
