This has been a long time coming in my opinion. Sony seem out of touch with what PS3 users want from them, not only from a gaming stand point but from a peripheral one also...
I do prefer to use a keyboard when typing as opposed to the g.u.i keyboard on the ps3. Sometimes if I think I am going to be typing a long message I will get out my Blu-tooth keyboard and use that but this little gadget might make things easier for that now in a less cumbersome way...
Anyway, Here are the details of the new PS3 compatible multi-function Blu-tooth mouse called the
VGP-BMS80 by Sony.
Bluetooth® Laser Mouse
• Dual function of PC remote control and multi-function laser mouse
• Remotely control PLAYSTATION® 3 to enjoy web browsing (No game control)
• Software keyboard to input words easily
This mouse as you can see the bold wording above is also pushed by Sony to work with PLAYSTATION 3 Gaming console and it looks like this mouse would be a good fit for your hand and a nice way to browse through the menus as well. One of the integrated controls in this mouse is “OFS (Optical Finger Sensor) with a four way control.
As mentioned in the specs it also will help you easily input text in search engines or anywhere else you want to use the software keyboard:
