I cant remember how the thought of this poem crept into my mind. I just remember saying, oh I should start writing it down and expand on it. Now I know that isnt "A class" Shakespearean penmanship. Just basic caveman poetry at its best, I wanted to share it and get it off of my chest.
Its dark and morbid and I think it maybe somewhat inspired by the movie I saw recently called The Lovely Bones...
Anyway here it is...
======================================================
The Nothingness
The Nothingness is where broken souls dwell
Vacuumed in a dusty grey hell
Wandering forth along forgotten paths
Trying to decipher cryptic, vague pasts
Alone, yet not, shadows pass at a distance
Never able to reach them, magnetic resistance
They are grey and faceless, only eyes and ears
No mouth to scream, just footsteps and tears
The only voices to hear, ricochet inside
A whirlpool of thoughts, cant bury or hide
There is no quiet time, there is no rest
There is no touch, nor beating chest
A journey of darkness, midnight navigation
Through this purgatory of morbid meditation
Each drifting soul, as lost as the rest
The same key unlocks all their quests
All alone and floating, even the last
Forgive and forget, let go of the past
A new doorway opens, old places to leave
A mouth hole now pierced, fresh air to breathe
Happiness returns, warmed by the sun
Grey fades away, no longer just one.
