At my work, the PSPgo has gone from $399 to $288....

But not just $288, $288 including 10 pretty damn good games.

Motorstorm LBP and a fair few other gems.

Makes me wonder if this is the end of the PSP.

If each game was $20 each on the shelf, which they arent some are even more, the system is going for $88

I plugged it in and the fucking thing wouldnt even turn on till I remembered it has an on off swicth on the back also.It started up with a new logo screen and the first thing I noticed was it seems quieter? And second thing was it plays PSone & PS2 games .why cant a slim (it can only play PSone games). I hooked up the wifi logged in and shut it all down and put it away ..shall I slam it on ebay or shall I keep it as my third PS3 .I know I wont sell it But I wanted to know how many of you still have a launch 60G or evn a 40g at home that has never fucked up? Or has fuck up and has been fixed share your storys

Legohacker turns Star Wars sets into Star Trek

WHAT happens when you mix science fiction, building blocks and a desire to break the rules? Legohacker. http://legohacker.blogspot.com/
Anyone who's old enough to know anything will know Lego just isn't what it used to be.
While once it was all about imagination and creating something from scratch, now it seems like every second block is locked to a toy franchise.
But one young enthusiast isn't going to take it lying down.
One of this week's most talked about blogs tracks the inventions of a Lego fan who "hacks" the official sets to turn them into something else.
His latest favourite is turning Star Wars sets into ships from Star Trek using only the pieces that were included in the box.
But while the 12-year-old boy behind Legohacker been lauded by nerd bibles Boing Boing and Wired, he isn't one for the spotlight.
His father, Jon Ippolito, said it wasn't because he was shy that his son didn't want his name out there, but because he was humble.
"I think he sees attaching his name to these things as a form of bragging," he told news.com.au.
Mr Ippolito, an associate professor of new media at The University of Maine, said he started the blog to document the creativity of his son and his nine-year-old daughter.
"When I had kids I was eager to see what kind of creativity they would spill on a page full of crayon drawings or a lump of Play Dough or, in this case, a bunch of Legos," he said.
"I was pretty astonished to see how sophisticated the kind of thinking outside the box they did was.
"In particular my son, when he was about 4, started to put blocks together in ways that I didn't even think were possible."
One entry on Legohacker shows a Lego Star Wars Clone Walker turned into a Klingon warship. Another shows a Hyena Droid Bomber turned into a Dominion battlecruiser.
Mr Ippolito said his son put together the original sets "incredibly fast", but then was even faster to reimagine them.
"I'm sure this is true of a lot of Lego enthusiasts, young and old, that they get one of these enormous 900-piece sets and they've got it built in a few hours," he said.
"What I find more remarkable is that my son will create these hacks very quickly too, even though he has nothing to go on there's no instructions.
"It can be as quick as a matter of minutes."
And why Star Trek? Mr Ippolito said his family didn't own a TV, but they still watched some films and shows.
"When we were young our parents watched Star Trek. It was something that families did together," he said.
But since introducing his children to the Star Trek universe, their knowledge had far outgrown his own, Mr Ippolito said.
"Of course once you let children into any sphere they often start to eat it up and ravenously consume all the aspects of that kind of world," he said.
"They quickly learned a lot more than I ever knew about all these different classes of ships and people and races and so on.
"My son will look at a certain kind of ship and instantly identify what it is and I have no idea."

This game is full of epic goodness!

The graphics are seriously top notch, and the levels are so friggin detailed. So many times I wanted to just stop and watch everything around me but the hail of bullet fire was crazy.

I don't want to throw any spoilers out there cause the story line is as gripping and excellent as the first one. Sadly its short, 3 hours and i only have 3 missions left.

Super keen to finish it an get into the MP online. Also going to enjoy some co-op of the single player.

The cut scenes really keep you immersed in the game as well, infact the only flaw is that its short. But having said that, Its nice to have a short action packed game. Its pretty much a Quentin Tarantino sort of movie with Bruce Willis as the lead, but its a 2 hour movie stretched out to 4-5hours of game play for the single player. You'll find yourself getting right into it as you duck for cover, unload your clip into a barrage of cops and bad guys. Its truely gritty and the art style deserves an award.

The replay value will definitly come from split screen co-op, and the MP. I can also see myself replayin single player on hard.

How the hell it got low scores is well beyond me. If you can get it for sub $100 do yourself a favor an get it... the demo sure didnt do this justice.

Oh and there's pleanty of gore, I love when you shoot someone in the face they get a mosaic over their head as if to say its filtered out.

There are alot of small things that make this game insanely good. Those who were some how let down by the first game should give this title a try, even if you just rent it you will sure enjoy it for what it is.

I'm so over everyone comparing every game to COD4... COD4 is COD4 if you want more COD4 go play COD4. If you're looking for something fresh in the FPS Genre then this is definitly for you.

Back in October last year, there were reports flying around that Seven would name their second digital Channel Mate. Today, the network officially launched their third digital channel, 7mate. I weep for free-to-air TV.

Stupid name aside, the channel itself sounds pretty good. Targetted towards males aged 16-49, 7mate will go live on September 25 with an HD broadcast of the AFL Grand Final. Among the programming headed to 7mate is Family Guy, Scrubs, American Dad, 30 Rock, How I Met Your Mother, Crank Yankers, That 70s Show, Caprica, Stargate Atlantis and a heap of others you can read here.

Whats not clear is whether or not this third channel for the Seven network will replace their current HD channel the announcement claims that youll need to tune into channel 73 on September 25 on a HD capable device, as well as confirming the AFL final will be broadcast in HD. From memory the current licensing arrangements only allow one HD channel per network, which means 7HD will disappear into the ether come September 25.

UPDATE: Seven has confirmed 7HD is going the way of the dodo to PC Authority.

The truth is, we cant even start explaining. But lets try this: At the moment, some of us are at the Cannes Film Festival announcing a major collaboration with SCEE for PS3. So, soon, you will find a new application on your console, which will let you stream the best of international cinema from the comforts of your couch. This is not a simple virtual videostore; we emphasize quality over quantity. Youll find undistributed festival gems ripe for your discovery, your favorite recent independent and art-house releases. Names like the Coen brothers, Godard, Kitano, Almodvar, Tarantino, and Van Sant are some well bring home to you.

Palm dOr winners and simply films we think should have won awards. But thats not all. Well bring you exclusive online premieres, collaborations with international film festivals, and retrospectives of some of the best cinema the world has ever seen.

And as we said, we love talking and sharing wonderful cinema too. Which makes MUBI like a small coffee shop, a place where you can gather and chat about alternative endings, directors cuts, or whatever those frogs in Magnolia meant.

You can follow members and interact with them: This is Martin Scorseses profile for instance (he happens to be a member!). Anyway, you get the point. Weve spent some time tying together an online cinema with a simple, engaging social network to help film lovers spread around the world connect over the movies they love best. And that is that. Welcome to MUBI.

Seriously.

Including the DLC the game is $120 on steam.

I got BFBC2 for $55 on sale.

I could even buy one for a friend.

I cant believe anyone would pay for that shit.

Considering the DLC on PC was free for COD4.

What a joke.

Last night at the lavish Plaza Hotel just off central park in Manhattan, Irrational Games announced its next project. It's been almost three years since we've heard a word from the Boston-based developer on how it would follow up the critically acclaimed hit BioShock. Now we finally know. Prepare to enter the floating city of Columbia in BioShock Infinite.

Studio head Ken Levine was on hand at the event to introduce his latest project through both a trailer and an extended demo. The trailer is something of a tease. It begins by showing what looks like the ocean's floor and a city suspended under water. But the image turns out to be an illusion, as viewers are simply seeing a piece of memorabilia from the World's Fair in Chicago through the eyes of the protagonist as he is being drowned in a fish tank.

The trailer teased a return to the underwater failed Utopia of Rapture, first seen in 2007′s BioShock. But last night, we saw BioShock Infinite in action, a live demo. This next big thing from Ken Levines Irrational Games is something different.

This is the BioShock of a floating city, of America in 1912, of a helpful damsel in semi-distress and of something called the Skyline.

When you first see Space Marine, with its third-person viewpoint, huge guns and beefed-up characters, it's difficult not to think that it looks a lot like Gears of War. The comparison is certainly justified. The name alone brings Gears to mind, along with rather a lot of other recent shooters. Then you see that the walking muscle of a main character has skulls daubed all over his power armour. And then, running straight up into a cluster of enemies, he brings out a chain-sword that bears more than a passing similarity to a chainsaw and hacks an Ork in half with it.

Upon closer inspection, though, Space Marine's resemblance to Blezinski's baby doesn't go far beyond the aesthetic (and you could argue that Gears steals a lot of its bombast and muscle from Warhammer 40,000 in the first place). For one thing, there's no cover mechanic. For another, there's a lot more fun to be had with melee the chain-sword is just the beginning. What's more, Space Marine's enemies actually fall over when you shoot them rather than absorbing clip upon clip of machine-gun bullets into their leathery hides. And everyone has British accents.

The Warhammer 40,000 universes descriptive tagline In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war does not sound like a cheery fantasy many of us would like to find ourselves in.

But Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is designed to fulfil the fantasy of taking control of the fictions hulking machines of war, to put players into the hundred pound boots of the titular Space Marine. Relic Entertainment, the developer of the third-person shooter Space Marine and, previously, real-time strategy series Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War, will take you there.
